Senior Maintenance Person - Central

We are looking for a multi-skilled, enthusiastic and dedicated person to join our maintenance team. This is a newly created role with increased work through existing clients, including a roll-out of planned project work nationwide.

Responsibilities

The Senior Maintenance Person will be responsible for:

  • Working as lead on a project team to deliver planned remedial and refit projects on schedule, to spec and to cost.
  • General maintenance and repair tasks as required, on-site at a client's multiple premises across Central England.
  • Completing remedial works to the fabric of buildings. Example tasks include: stud wall work, fitting fire doors, replacement toilets/sinks, concrete threshold repairs, gutter and cladding repairs and make good decorations.
  • Prioritising and scheduling your own and/or a team's tasks to ensure we meet the client's needs.
  • Reacting to emergency client callouts when required, including occasional evening and weekends.
  • Reporting, and where appropriate resolving, any health and safety risks or hazards, ensuring safe working practices are employed at all times.
  • Communicating with client representatives and store managers, maintaining a happy working relationship to ensure their wishes are achieved and respected.
  • Ensuring all tools, vehicles and equipment in your control are maintained in good working order.

Candidate

  • Be a good all-round, hands-on worker who enjoys problem solving
  • Possess at least one qualification in trade and show competence in another - joinery skills essential, plumbing desirable.
  • Have experience in general maintenance, knowledge and proven practical experience of delivering front line fabric/building maintenance services, including working at height.
  • Have good working knowledge of health and safety at work, with ability and/or willingness to be a designated first aider.
  • Tackle busy periods with enthusiasm and take pride in your work.
  • Be comfortable conducting client visits without supervision and also enjoy working as a team member.
  • Have the ability to keep accurate records whilst working on-site.
  • Be happy to travel and stay away from home throughout the week.
  • Possess a full driving licence and enjoy driving with care and consideration.

Package

We will provide an initial 12-month fixed term contract with the option to extend this to a permanent full-time position for the right candidate. Attracting a competitive salary dependent on experience, 28 days holiday, access to a tracked vehicle when required for business use, use of a fuel card, a branded uniform including PPE.
